Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Melinda Harvey

It is an honor returning to Estancia Municipal Schools where I had the pleasure to attend kindergarten to 12th grade.  I graduated Salutatorian and went on to attain a Bachelor of Science Degree from New Mexico State University. My major was Agriculture Economics and Business.  Upon graduation, I worked for USDA as an office manager and was later promoted to auditing offices.  Relocating to a rural area allowed me to return to college and pursue an Alternative Licensure in Education and I was hired to teach business classes at Corona High School.  This is where I discovered my love for physical education (P.E.) and continued to take college courses to become certified to teach P.E.  An opportunity arose to return to Estancia and I was hired as the Elementary P.E. teacher and have been pleased to work here since 2006.  My goal is to instill the importance of a life time of fitness and provide an emotionally safe environment where all students are encouraged to do their best!  My position allows the opportunity for all students to learn and develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to personally decide to participate in a lifetime of healthful physical activity.  I work to create an active, fun, productive environment while also providing a safe, secure area for learning.
